President Donald Trump’s lawyers are considering a legal challenge to try to stop “60 Minutes” from broadcasting their interview with Stormy Daniels, BuzzFeed News reports.
“We understand from well-placed sources they are preparing to file for a legal injunction to prevent it from airing,” a source told BuzzFeed.
It’s is not clear what grounds the lawyers would seek to challenge the broadcast on.
Daniels was interviewed by correspondent Anderson Cooper, who appeared in a photo with Daniels and her new lawyer Michael Avenatti after she filed a lawsuit claiming that the nondisclosure agreement she signed to stay quiet about her alleged 2006 affair with Trump was invalid.

“Any litigation aimed at stopping CBS News from airing Cooper’s interview likely would be an uphill battle, given protections for press freedom against prior restraints,” writes BuzzFeed News’ Chris Geidner. “Complicating any effort to stop the airing of Clifford’s interview would be the fact that 60 Minutes is not a party to Clifford’s 2016 settlement.”
“Why so many steps to keep the American people from learning the truth?” Avenatti said in an email to BuzzFeed. “And to think that all this time we all thought this was a democracy where we actually valued free speech…”
